I finally got my new timing chain on. I used timing chain kit from engnbldr.com. I just have a question on some slack in the chain, the driver side chain guide from this kit, and just if everything looks ok.

The "slack" picture shows the slack on the driver's side along the metal guide. I can pull it far enough to touch at least one of the bolts holding the guide in. Is this ok?

the "bolt" picture shows how the bolts bolt in for the driver's side chain guide. The part that is sticking up is undoubtebly the part of the bolt that went through the OEM guide. Is this ok?

The chain went on without any trouble and the cam and crank were not turned independently (without the chain on) during the installation. The camshaft notch is pointed upwards and the bright link is at the top of that sprocket, while the sprocket on the crankshaft has the notch and bright chain link at the bottom of the sprocket.

Does this sound/look ok to everyone? Before I started this I had almost no mechanical experience and I have learned a lot. However, this is one part that I would like to get right.

The Bright links on the chain line up with the dots on the sprockets. There should be verylittle slack in the chain. It has an oil pressure tensioner.

I used engnbldr's timing kit and didn't have any problem. I got everthing lined up just fine but I didn't pay any attention to the bright spots on the chain (shouldn't make any difference because they should be just for alignment purposes). I don't think I had any slack in mine at all. You might try getting on their website and get the phone number and talk to them or email him. I've talked to them a couple of times and seem to be really nice guys and shouldn't have any problem answering your questions.
