04 Tacoma D-Cab, how much did you pay?

I am kicking around the idea of getting a 04 Tacoma D-Cab right after the 05 is introduced. I am hoping to get a really good deal on it. RIght now they are priced $26-28K at my local dealerships. What did you guys pay for yours?

I am looking at the 2004 SR5 4x4 w/TRD package.

When I was interested, most dealers could do about $21-22k out the door.

Are you hard set on a new one? The 02's and 03's are going for way cheap around here.

It would be really hard for me to buy a used car. I got burned pretty bad when I bought my Celica even after it was checked out by me and my buddies that are auto tech's.

Its just too hard to tell if the previous owner took care of it, even with receipts/records, you are still taking a risk. I would consider buying a used car for myself, but the Tacoma will be for my wife, and I would rather that she have a brand spankin new car.

Was that in Cali? Mark Miller in SLC wanted 28K for a 04 Tacoma SR5.

I was out the door for 21,200 for my 04 Dcab Taco. That included the 1500 rebate for teir 1 financing, another 1500 off because of Labor day sale, and includes a generous 6 year 100K warranty for 400 bucks (not sure how great that really was.) I drove to Dallas to get it after being ganged up on in San Antonio. If I could have waited another 3 weeks, a friend got a dcab with e-locker and towing package for 21 firm. He couldn't find the color he wanted so he settled on white.
