2 questions about the 94 4x4 toyota pickup

1. I was told that the timing chain is suppose to last as long as the engine, is that true? or do they need to be replaced every 100k miles?

2. How much can the 4 cyc tow?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Welcome to yotatech!!! I had a 94 with a 22re, she had 297,000 miles and the timing chain was never an issue. I towed a small (single) atv trailer when I was stock and she was a total dog. There are a tone of mods you can do to bump up the low and mid range power. What kind of towing do ya want to do?

Craig.

hey, thanks for the reply.

i may buy this truck then. the car at the dealership has some after market shocks and new exhaust, and the body and engine, from what i can tell, look in good condition.

should I? anything else i could check before buying it this weekend? I may give it like a 20min test drive. thanks.

cool sounds like a good rig to me. I wouldn't worry about the timing chains, they rarely go bad. You can go bad with a Toyota.
