Before you bring on the flames, about searching Im trying to find out some info. I have doen the research on the Truxs ties and such. But here in hawaii everybody runs Swampers on thier lifted rides, and the only comlaints I hear they are a pain to balance and thier heavy. Also most of the swampers are noisy.

But here is my dilema, I want the cool fat look of the Swampers but without all the problomes of weight, balancing, and noise. My last set of tires were 265/70/16 BF Goodrich TA Kos and they were heavy to lug around. And my only complaint is that they pick up rocks like a geologist . So Im just wondering what tire I should pick up. I spend more time stuck in traffic on road in one week, than Im gonna spend the entire year of off-roading.

So basicly Im looking for a good on-road tire, with decent looks, with offroad capabilites.

my setup is 3 inch revtek in front and Downey 3,5 coils in the back. Im gonna be ordering Roger Brown 2inch body lift. And my rims are 16x10 weld typhoons.

 

Many here have praised the new Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos for both their on- and off-road capabilities. And they have an aggressive look, although obviously not as aggressive as an MT.

 

Dueler ATs or Dueler MTs, depending on how aggressive you want to go.

 

yea, get max traction or all terrains.. dont go for mudders.

 

Look at the goodyear at/s tires. I have these and they look tuff and they are all terain tires. They also wear like steel.

what prices did you all pay. For my BFGs 265/70/16 I paid here in hawaii $198 a piece. And that supposedly was a hooked up price to. Normal here in hawaii is $216. For all the people running revos hows the ride, is it worth the $225 thier asking a piece here in hawaii. Other wise I gotta track down some other tires, maybe even buy another set of BFGs. get 305/70/16 (33 x 12.50). I have MT/R's and they ride ok. I kinda of like the mickey thompson fun county II but I am not sure how they wear. I also here that procomp xterain ride and wear pretty good.

 

Well as of today, I orderd the Roger brown lift. So I gotta start looking for a tire. I called interco and they said the truxs tire weigh in at 50 somthing pounds and the SSR weigh in at about 75. They said if I rotate/balance the tire frequently I can get 30-40,000 miles out of them. Im just wondering how the BFGs TaKOs stack up in weight? And what weight the other tire such as the REVOs and Toyos stack up in weight and wear.

 

I love my Yokohamas... Just remember to rotate them often. They tend to cup in the front if you don't. They wear out a bit faster, but they pay off in wet weather/mud/dirt/rocky traction. Excelent tire and they run cheaper!!!

 

How often do you have to rotate them?

 

I have never rotated any set of tires I have ever owned and continued to do so with these, but the cupping appeared. Found out threw research that they just need to be rotated at the regular intervals. I think it is about every 3000-5000 miles? What do they normally suggest? I forget...

 

I think it's 6K-8K miles.

 

I like my 32x11.5x15's. Kuhmo Venture MT.

 

what about bfg tko 33/10.50 tall but not very noisy nice ride too!

I just found these the other day. General Grabber AT2 - not much info out there but it's a good lookin' tire.



Dunlop Radial Rover RV - I looked at it in person today and looks like a pretty decent tire especially for the price.



Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT - it looks like this tire replaced the RV but RVs are still being sold.



All of these tires are cheaper and while I have been able to find some info on there, it has been rather limited. So if anyone has any info, throw it out there so we can hear.

My brother has those on his full-size Chevy and really likes them. They seem to be holding up well. I have seen a few Tacos around here that run them too. Might be worth a shot.

 

If I were you I would take a really hard look at a set of Hankook RT01s. I am currently running a set of 33s and I absolutely love them. On the road they are extremely quiet for an MT but in the mud they dig like mad for a radial. I have over 8000km on mine and they barely even show a hint of wear, and best of all they are pretty cheap too.
