As most of you know the front seats in the Tacomas leave much to be desired. I would like to swap them out for a different set. My Tacoma is a 2003. Who has swapped out their front seats and what seats did you use?

I was considering some from a Camry or something like that. What seats will fit (size wise) in the Tacomas? I've heard of some guy putting in volvo seats into his Tacoma. Any more ideas?

 

I too have heard of the Volvo seats.
I think there will be more people who have attempted this kind of swap on customtacos and TTORA.

I'd be curious to know what the options are... post when you find out!

 

FYI: A guy over on CustomTacos has successfully transplanted Camry seats into his 95.5 Tacoma, and the result is very good.

When I posed this question not long ago the big answer I got was Celica seats.....(I have a 97, but it probably doesn;t matter)

 

It mighta been me that so answered... Celica seats are the most popular swap-ins (at least among the CT crowd). There'd been mention of Camry seats before, but the recent swap I cited above is the first one I know that's actually been done.

The hard part is in the mounting... Go outside the Toyota family and it's either (a) shell out for the special mounts or (b) go the fabrication route. But if you're not afraid of the mounting / fabrication hassles, you can put most anything in there...
