2000 miles since last change, down about a quart. It's been doing it for about 5 yrs. Never any smoke out of exhaust, puddles in driveway, or smell of oil burning. Oh well, it prob. likes a gulp of clean oil between changes anyway.

mine leaks about 10 drops a day.... funny thing is, it isnt fuel or anything else contaminated, and the level never goes down..... hmmmmm...... however, i did find a potential source of the leak, the fuel pump seems to have some holes underneath it, and i think this is whats leaking.....

2+ qts.!! It's not really leaking out eather. My motor will probably only last me about 9 or 10 more changes but I have a rebuilt one waiting.

mine's been dripping lately. i think it's the aftermarket pressure sender leaking, as there's spray under the oil filter. i need to get down there and tighten it up

i am lucky enough to have this same problems everyone i talk too owners and mechanics seem to have the same opinions on toyotas ... i recently switched back to regular oil and rplaced my valve cover gasket and it has made a huge difference ....also washed the engine and am in the process of trying to find any other leaks . so far so good ... before all this work i would go thru at least 1 to 2 quarts ... .. hope this helps . by the way i drive a 1987 runner with over 279000 miles on it

I was going through a quart every 1K miles but the past two times I've added oil it's been every 500 miles. I'm not sure where it's going because it doesn't leak enough to drip or smoke. It seems to be going back to the 1 quart every 1K miles rate. I don't know what the deal is.

Not a drop. Ever. It's nice knowing I will have the same amount on the dipstick when I check it every week. I almost wish I had to add like a 1/2 quart or something every now and then. This thing is BORING to maintain.

I loose about a litre or so. I don't think that it burns much but I have a small leak out of the rear main seal (oil drops out of bellhousing). Boy is that one going to be fun to fix!! Lucky for me it is minor and doesn't seem to get any worse with time. Oh and that is at 270,000km

I dont loose any oil, but it seems that I loose oil pressure. I'll do an oil change and the pressure will be good at idle for about a week, after that, the pressure becomes low at idel and normal during acceleration/normal driving.

None, now that I replaced the oil pump housing o-ring, valve cover gasket and half moon plugs. 200k miles, 22re. Before that, the engine was automatically applying a coat of rust inhibitor to the front suspension and diff.
My 85 4runner was also leaking a quart a week out of the rear half moon, seems to have been most of the problem, still waiting for the residual oil to make it's way off of the top of the tranny to know if that was all of it.

I use about a litre every 1000 km. There is no oil on the driveway or signs of leaks, and a very little bit of blue smoke at start up, which probably means the valve seals are leaking, but adding oil is easier than changing them.
