Quck question...3.4 oil capacity?

On my 98 Tacoma with the 3.4, how many quarts of oil should it take when using an OEM Toyota filter. The manual said 5.2 quarts with a filter change, but just double checking. Thanks

It should be about 5.5 quarts. Some have gotten away with only 5 while others can put in up to 6.

Mine with the larger filter on it takes just a couple of drops shy of six quarts. With the smaller, stock filter, it was dead on, 5.5 quarts.

Same with my '97. Think I use the regular size filter as well. Glad I'm not alone in this, as it sort whigged me out the first time I did my own oil change on the taco.

When I used to get my oil changed at Valvoline, they would always charge me extra because the price included up to 5 quarts, and my engine took just under six.
