1st gen seat swap

Does anyone know of a front seat that will bolt into a 1st gen. I am looking for something with a little bit more comfortable, and more support would be nice. What can I say I am getting old, thats why I sold my Jeep.

1st gen truck or runner? Try to find sr5 seats from a junkyard they are comfortable and fit with little to no modification.

sr5 seats!

Hi, yeah I installed a set of 4 runner sr5 seats and center console in my 1988 pick up, I picked them up in a bone yard for $150 for the works with the seat belts for the buckets! The only issues that I had were, the seat belt mounting holes were not there like I thought they would be, my bench seat had the seat belts bolt to the floor, the buckets bolt to the hump, I just drilled the holes where the factory holes should have been and used heavy washers and a nut to hold them in place. The only issue with the seats were the back 2 mounts were a little wider than my holes, so I just made the holes in them ovals and away I went! My console fit right in, and all and all its like a new truck in side. My seats came out of a 1994 runner that was babied, the seats are like new, my truck is an 88 so it is possible! I have a buddy that has Honda seats in his, any bone yard seats that have 4 flat mounting feet that are comfortable to you can be made to fit! Just keep in mind the seat belt issue and if you want a console or not! Good luck Matt

i have a truck 1985.... had a crappy bench seat in it wtih holes that went to the floor.. i was basically sitting in a hole... well anyways, got some sr5 buckets out of the junkyard... they bolted right into 3 of the locations while the 4th had a non threaded hole, i just took a bolt, feed it through the hole and put a washer and nut on the otehr side.....

i did have to drill holes for my sr5 seat belts as they mounted to the tranny hump, not the seat bolts like the bench... just ran a bolt with lock washers through, and locktighted them
