Unhappy Need help with wiring, please...

A couple months ago, I noticed my battery had leaked and eroded the wiring harness to my PIAA 980 Dual Sport lamps. I went to a couple auto parts stores and bought 14g wire and inline fuses. I want the 65w driving lamp to come on when I flip the high-beams on and the fog lamp when I have the lows on. The driving and fog share a common ground. I ran that to the negative (-) on the battery. The left headlight has 3 wires: red/yellow, red/green, and red/blue. Red/blue goes to the fuse box. Red/yellow is low-beam, red/green is high (or vice versa). I tapped into the high-beam (red/green) to switch on the driving lamps. When I got one wired in, I flipped on my high-beams and everything seamed to work fine on a single lamp. When I wired up the other lamp to the other headlamp and turned on the lights, they were very dim. The regular headlamps were fine, but the driving lamps were very dim.
So, my question is: What am I doing wrong? All I'm trying to do is use the high and low beams as the switch to turn on my driving and fog lamps.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

You could try using relays so the auxillary lights would have more of their own circuit instead of sharing it with the headlights.
