Has anyone installed a 3" (Heck any size) Body lift on a 2nd Gen 4Runner with an Automatic Transmission ?

All the lift kits I have found say they will not work with AutoTrans.

I've crawled under the truck and can't figure out way it wouldn't work ? The linkage from the Shifter is a cable and it looks like there enough play for a 3" lift.

Any Idea's ? Any Advise ? Anyone Do this yet ?

I don't wanna start this project and find out halfway threw that It can be done.
(especailly after I've cut off all the body mounts and bolts)

I have the 3" Roger Brown/4Crawler body lift and the only problem I continue to have is tight shifting linkage. Everything else was a snap.

 

I just installed a RB 1" BL and the transfer case shifting linkage had to be extended about 1/2 inch. The transmission shifting linkage was fine.
