New Procomp shocks and steering stabilizer--no rubbing




My front is now a little taller than the rear with Downey HD coils

 

do they make balljoint spacers for a 1985 4x2 toyota?

 

Do you have a pic of it sitting on flat ground?

 

I am not sure about the old ifs on 2wd trucks--you will need to contact SDORS and ask.

Holy CV angle batman!

Other than that, looking good!! Have you done the diff drop yet?

 

I think the diff angle is good-the fins are barely touching--plus I have manual hubs.

 

I second the CV alert!!! Was it on jacks? Or are the CV's normally at a 45 degree??!!?

 

Looks good. How close are your tires to rubbing the UCA?

As long as you have manual hubs I think the cv's will be ok. If you go with the cv angle much flatter than that then the cv angle gets bad when the wheel is stuffed. Which would you rather have, a bad cv angle with the wheel stuffed and lots of weight and traction or a bad cv angle with the wheel in full droop with little or no weight and traction? Assuming manual hubs are unlocked on the highway of coarse.

I am running General MT 31x10.5 and I have at least 1/2 inch clearance from the UCA. You also need to realize that the CV angle shown is not on level ground so it may seem more severe.

Did the 85s have t-bars? Maybe a picture of your UCA would help.

 

Mt Goat - are you running 5.5" of lift now?

 

It is something like that. Plus I just put on a RB 1 inch body lift. Maybe now my 33's won't rub anymore

 

I wish I did. I'd like to but I need to find a guinee pig in San Diego. Actually, I've been talking to a guy with a 2wd T100. As I understand it, the arms are the same. I'm going to see if I can meet up with him and take some measurements.

So I have been driving with them for a couple days now, and I think I need to put my front sway bar back on and get some discos.

 

Why? Bobbing and weaving a lil too much with the added height?

 

The ball joint spacers allow you to back off the t-bar adjustment and that gives you more flex but it also gives a little more sway and lean on the turns.

 

I dont think they'll work for an 85. Arent they solid axle? Atleast I know the 4x4's are.
