Rear Axle Alternatives

I am really getting tired of leaky rear axle seals.

I've done the subject searches and it doesn't appear that there are any smoking gun answers to the problem.

Why is this a 3rd generation problem? What is inferior to the seal design compared to Ford or Chevy?

Has anybody considered an aftermarket/non-Toyota axle replacement?

Drop out 3rd member has more movement than an american axle, hence the leak. Might consider a liberal amount of RTV Black next time you fix it...

I know a guy that put a Ford 9" rear, but he also put a dana 44 front and a 10" lift with 38's
