Alternative to TJM/ARB Bumper/Grill Guard

Hi,

So Im thinking my front end needs something, however I feel that I really do not want to pay $700 for a TJM-15, that adds weight and I dont think I'll be doing any rock-climbing anytime soon, that I will actually need that.

What other alternatives do you recommend for a 3rd gen? Im looking for a brush guard that goes over the bumper/grill, not replacing it. Something that just bolts on, has a good reputation, good looks and wont cost me a fortune. Something that I could also attach lights to as well.

Any suggestions would be appreicated! Thanks.

Manik or WAAG is your best bet. Unless you can find one used, plan on spending at least $450 + shipping for one. They will also cause more damage in the event of an accident instead of protecting you. Check the yotatech classifieds - they seem to go for $150-$200 used every once in a while...

yeah yeah you said you don't wanna replace it, but i'm gonna say this anyway

well if not the TJM T-15, what about the oh so svelte T-17? even if you're not a rockcrawler, that'd be a nice bumper to have. and it's less expensive than the t-15. a new brush guard and a new t-17 probably aren't too much different in price. also, a t-17 would be less weight than the bumper + brush guard.

if you're gonna spend some bucks for some front end beef, do it right.

I've been looking around recently at front guards, I have a specific idea of what I want and can't quiiiite find it - there must be 20 different front end guards of various kinds out there, from the full rock crawler look to street cruiser chrome, and at least 10 different bumpers too. Use google creatively and keep a-lookin'. But for cheap, you can't beat good ol ebay...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the replies.

Guess I'll still be a-lookin. The TJM is so awesome...I've had my mind set on that for a while. It does appear that most of the brush guards are still quite high on price no matter what route you go!

Steel is really expensive right now, maybe that has something to do with the prices.

I am planning to take off my manik and replace with a 01 bumper or go with TJM 15. I wouldn't able to do so til late August since I am away. Make me a reasonable offer if you like to take the manik off my hand
