Squeaky belt - too tight or too loose?

I'm pretty sure it's my fan belt. It's weird, but the way it sqeaks, it makes my engine just sound like it idles loud because the squeaking is constant but rather quite so at first you think the engine is a little loud, but when you get in close, it seems like it's the fan... or alternator belt. So would it be too loose? Too tight? What can I do to make it go away?

usually it's being loose that makes them squeel. Try tightening it up a bit (do not overtighten like a guitar string) and see if it helps. If not it may be another faulty component ie; power steering pump, alternator, fan clutch...
