3rd Gen. Manik...help

I've had my Manik brushguard on for so long, I've forgotten how I did it! I've gotten 4 bolts off, but I need some help. The two bolts that go vertically inside the frame rail...how do you get those off? The bolts are twisting with the nut. I thought it was tacked on the inside. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hmm...which 4 bolts are you referring to? I thought there was only 4 bolts that held it to the frame. I just put a socket on one end and a wrench on the other.

that's on the impact bar. the bolts go alll the way through the top. you'll find the nut sitting on the top of the impact bar. you'll need a closed-end wrench or some vise grips. i'd prefer the vice grips if i were you.

OK, I might have found it. Do I have to reach all the way down to the frame to grip the bolt head? Vise grips are in use, but I can't stop the bolt from spinning when I twist the nut.

there is a 4-5" bolt that goes all the way through the impact bar (at least that's how my maink was attached). the head of the bolt was on the bottom and was visible when under the truck. the nut was on top of the "frame" (actually impact bar) and you can only find it by feel without taking off the entire front bumper. once you find it, latch onto it with the vice grips and turn the bolt from underneath.

I got it done, my bolt head was on the top though. I see what you mean by impact bar now, I was confused for a sec. Thanks a lot! I'm glad that thing is gone!

I just replaced one of the bolts you are speaking of on my Manik. The bolt was either a 5/16 or a 3/8, can't remember. I bought both a 4" and a 5" length bolt and I believe I ended up using the 4". Good Luck!
