Seeking Mechanic or Restoration Shop – 1994 Toyota Pickup Extra Cab (Northeast NJ)
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for a knowledgeable Toyota mechanic and/or restoration shop to help bring my 1994 Toyota Pickup Extra Cab to the next stage of its life. I’m located in northeast New Jersey and am hoping to find someone within a reasonable driving/towing distance.
About the truck:
· 1994 Toyota Pickup Extra Cab
· Approx. 160,000 miles
· Has been off the road for ~15 years – garage kept
· Starts easily and runs well
· Currently not drivable due to steering-related issues, so it cannot yet be properly road tested
· Expected levels of rust, nothing insane (I believe truck spent its early life in CA)
I’ve done some minor work on it (brakes, clutch, CV joints) but at this stage, I have more money than time, and I’m looking for someone who can take over and move the truck forward. At a minimum, the goal is to get it safely back on the road and driving again. Depending on how things go, I would also consider a more comprehensive restoration, potentially including bodywork and paint.
No hard deadline — I’m comfortable with the truck being worked on at the shop’s natural pace. Looking for quality, communication, and experience rather than speed
If you are a shop, independent mechanic, or know of someone with strong Toyota pickup experience, I’d love to connect. Recommendations are very welcome as well.
Please feel free to reply here or message me directly. Happy to provide photos, details, and discuss scope and budget.
Thanks in advance.
Sean
