Hey everyone joined the cult today and bought a 86 pickup with a 22r in it. It has a new carb from previous owner i assume its an aftermarket stock replacement as it doesn't look like a weber. While driving it around for a bit i noticed my gas pedal would no longer move past 1/4 throttle. When i shut the truck off i have full range of throttle again, until i start it back up then it goes right back to only having 1/4 throttle. I even tried revving it at the carb and it wont go past 1/4 there as well so i don't think its a linkage issue from the pedal to carb as the pedal moves freely. Figured id check the internet to see if anyone else has had this problem before I go down the rabbit hole.

 

Got it sorted out...maybe not the right way but its driving good now, one of the i'll call it a finger on the throttle linkage was catching on another piece when the electronic choke was fully off. Gave it a little tweak and were right as rain now
