Anyone retrofit a 2nd gen 4Runner factory spare tire carrier onto 1st gen 4Runner
Anyone install a 2nd gen spare tire carrier onto a 1st gen 4Runner ? How did you do it ? Please post a picture if you have thanks !!

The initial concerns obviously would be the curve of the brackets on the corner pillar, and mounting the bracket on the actual gate for the latch.
The only other concern i can see is you'll be somewhat limited on where you can mount on the corner pillar because of the tail light assembly, and will the "TOYOTA" trim on the tailgate that have the license lights be in the way.
Be nice to find one on CL where you can drive over and do a quick fit before buying.
In the meantime maybe you could get some clay and get a mold impression of your corner, then compare to a second gen corner to see how different.
