1991 Pick up 4x4.. No power after 40mph
Have 1991 Toy PU. Replaced fuel system and tank all new spark plugs and battery. Have had compression test and diagnostic run by a couple shops. They are unable to pin point the issues. Main issue very weak power barely able to get it to 40mph. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
considered an engine swap, however would love to save the money and get it running correctly.

It had issues with the fuel system when I bought. We replaced and driving it home noticed it wouldn’t go above 40mph down hill. This is the second engine with 90k miles. 2 shops have said it shows an error code for cylinder 3. They however cannot seem to figure out what it is.

Let's back up a minute.
Start with giving us the details about your truck.
Engine? Transmission?
Any modifications to the truck, particularly to the engine?
What have you done to the engine. Give us as much detail as possible.
Let's work through the problem methodology.

Apparently #3 cylinder has no fuel to it which would indicate either a clogged injector or a bad signal to make it click off. Is this correct? You can move the injector to number 2 and see if the problem moves

this is not an obd-II system, afaik it can't show individual cylinder error codes, for instance here is the list of error codes for the later model 22re: https://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTr...shtml#Late22RE
i don't see where you specified what engine it is?

It is a 3.0vze. I have spark and tested each cylinder and 3 is not working. I had to replace the complete fuel system including tank and sender. The injectors were not messed with. I plan on opening it up sometime this week. It is starting well now just still running sluggish. I am assuming because 3 is off line. I was just going to bite the bullet and buy the Bosch, however not sure if they are worth the money. I am also doing an egr delete. I appreciate the help. I am very new to vehicles and can’t seem to find any mechanics in the area that even want to mess with 91. I am surprisingly really enjoying learning about this vehicle.
