Arrow 1995 Toyota Pickup tires, bushings, shocks, etc

My son bought a 1995 Toyota Pickup with 22RE engine and automatic. It is a 2WD (Deluxe, half ton). This truck needs few things: shocks, bushings, tires, etc. My son wants lift with bigger tires. I told him not to get his truck lifted, but bigger tires might work. That is why I am here (and I'm new to this forum. I have lots of experience in Jeep Wrangler lifts, etc). He wants to make his truck look better and no plans for offroading.

Anyway, his truck has a set of P205/75R14 tires. On the door pillar sticker, it says P195/75R14. I guess the previous owner of this truck upgraded it to 205 tires. What is the biggest tires he can put on his truck without lift? maybe with 15" wheels?

I will buy him a set of KYB shocks (Excel model), standard size. I think the truck will need bushings, like ball joints, drag link bushings, etc. I believe that they are originals. I can tell the steering wheel felt "loose". What are your suggestion? This truck has about 188,000 miles on the odometer.

Thanks for your time in replying. Have a fantastic week.

You probably can't go much bigger than the current tires without a lift.y you might be able to squeeze a 205/70-15 but there isn't much room in that wheel well.
I went through all this years ago with my 2wd and you will want to pick to a tire that is around 26"-28" tall. What ever tire you pick will dictate how much lift you will need in the front. That lift will have to be at the cost of ride comfort sacrifice from maxing out the suspension travel and riding on the bumpstops.
You can do an upper balljoint spacer or a new upper control arms (if you can find them) to help with the amount of torsion cranking. You can also do a body lift for a more clearance but because you have an auto its limited to 1". At one point I have tried a combo of all these and the best I found was to run a 2" body lift, aftermarket thicker torsion bars, and fabtech upper arms. I was able to clear a 235/75-15 tire and still had some suspension travel.
For the rear, I ran a longer spring shackle and an add a leaf with the overload leaf removed.
