1985 diesel SR5 AC swap
I’ve got a 1985 SR5 that was originally a 22 re but now has a 2.4 diesel
Id like to put AC on it
Theres a 91 SR5 V6 for sale and I was wondering if I could swap the parts over from that to the 85 without to much bother
I know the evaporator box is different
Im from Manitoba Canada so there’s not many part trucks around
What do you guys think?
Thanks

Lots of bother. Tons
I’d source out an ac system for a 1984-1988 Toyota truck. At least you know all the stuff under the dash will fit in and plug-in to existing harness. The 1984-1988 condenser and r/d will bolt right in. The only thing you might have to futz with is a ac compressor bracket. Should I assume you have a L series diesel? Or something completely different?
Most of the major ac components are available from Denso at a fair price.

Ok I will keep looking for the 84-88
For the brackets I can make those myself so that’s no issue
Will the same era 4 runner have the same parts or are they different aswell?
I think it is an L series, it’s a 2.4L |4 naturally aspirated and was supposed to be from an 85 truck
I did find most of the parts on rockauto, only part I couldn’t find was the electrical and evaporator housing
Thanks

Any RN5#(2wd), RN6#(4wd)truck or 4Runner a/c components will work.
