New project for my daughter and i to work on. The cab needs interior work, but the shifter hole Looks sawzalled infront of the shifter and jb welded flimsy metal on transfer case selector. This is on an 86 extended cab body maybe put on a standard cab frame, anyone have thoughts on why the hole looks so chewed out, is there a transmission spacer found in xtended cabs not found in standard cabs different frame to motor mount locations, a different hole for auto transmissions or something im missing here, anything more I need to be concerned with on this project as it relates to non compatability of an extra cab body on standard cab frame?

Grab your model # and then go to EPC-data.com or amayama.com and you can see images and part numbers of the oem configuration. When you pulled the shifter bezel/boot off was the thick rubber black one there? There’s a bunch of drilled holes around the shifter hole.
Thanks Jim kola, I wish I was the one that pulled everything, this is how I got it, the rubber isolators and trim with leather are missing, added to the list of needed parts.
oddly enough , I retired the truck for a while .
My son is now needing a truck , so we are going to bring it back to life . I'm not going to move the mounts , as I make new center consoles .
I have one in my 3.4L twin turbo w/R150f . that set up puts the shifter 2" forward , basically exactly whats happening here .. so I know it works
Slacker that is a thing of Beauty. I'll have to check out your shop. Digging into this thing a bit more as our snow is finally under a foot, I found another hole chewed by some rabid gerbil where a second trasfer case shifter must have been. That completely makes sense with what I'm seeing though. Thanks
