Heatshield Armor on 3VZE Crossover Pipe.
Has anyone ever thought of throwing on Heatshield Armor onto their the 3VZE crossover pipe? Looks like a good way to counter the heat produced from the crossover pipe and maybe keep your engine running cooler.

Cross over pipe insulation
It is well insulated from the factory when it was assembled. So this really is not the problem. The drivers side manifold combines all of the exhaust out put for all three of the passenger side cylinders via this pipe and dumps it right into the port for cylinder # 6 which is why this cylinder is usually the one were the HG fails. The best thing you can do is put cheap $150 dollar headers from China on this engine. It will allow the exhaust to be scavenged by the headers and will reduce the heat load at the exhaust ports in the heads. 2.5" CAT-Back with FlowMasyer mufflers at CAT and OEM muffler locations work a charm in getting this motor to enjoy reving a bit better.
