Will 2001 oem 4Runner wheels fit on my 1988 4Runner

Looking at some 2001 oem 4Runner wheels wondering if they will fit my 1988 4Runner I know the bolt pattern is fine just wondering if the center bore will fit over my front manual locking hubs ?

anyone running them on their first gens ? Any pictures would be awesome thanks

Yep. I have 2003 Tacoma wheels on my 87 4Runner right now, and will be using 2004 4Runner V8 17s (I have test fitted them) soon.

It's tight, I think the auto hubs taper down more than the manual ones, as I've heard of people having to sand off corrosion in the bore in order to get them to fit.

I'm running TRD pro wheels from a 2019 4 runner on my 87. No issues with the hub clearance but the ball joint lift spacer and 285/70/17 front tires require me to run a wheel spacer. I'm running 1.5s but could have gotten away with a 1 inch, possibly even a 3/4.

Hub centric spacers won't fit over manual hubs so lug centric must be used. For safety I upgraded to lx300 arp wheel studs and cut off the excess combined with extended reach innner lug nuts.

Ended getting a set of 2003 4Runner wheels with 265 tires
I was running 2 inch spacers and ended leaving them on and glad I did because the offset on these 03 4Runner wheels look like the would’ve came super close to the tie rod ends and everything else it sticks out like 1 1/2 inch past the fender no big deal
