Hi, I have a 1986 Toyota pickup 4X4 with a 22r engine and G52 manual transmission. I took the drain plug off of my transmission and this popped out... Any ideas what this is? I know metal coming out of the tranny is never a good sign... What ever it is, there's another half somewhere. It's hard to describe it but the first and second gear sometimes feels a little bumpy/crunchy when shifting. Kind of like you can feel some kind of metal slightly rubbing as it shifts. 4th gear feels smooth as could be. Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Looks like part of a circlip- kinda looks like this when it's one piece. Not sure where it might have come from-it"s been a while since I pulled apart a Manual trans. Some of the other experts here can maybe weigh in.
