I am looking at buying a 1985 solid axel, 22re, sr5 4Runner that is stock. But it has rusted rear fender flares. Is there a patch you can buy or do you have to cut the area out a second gen pickup?

you could buy new front fenders to cut up, depending on your metalworking skilz.

There is a company in Canada called Wolf steel that makes patch panels. I used one of theirs on my 4r. They are good.

 

I ordered the wheel wells, top tailgate piece and a side panel for my 87 4runner from Robin at Wolf steel. They should arrive this week. Robin was great to deal with. Their website is alfaparts.net. I can post some pics when I get them if you like.
