I’m needing an iac valve and possibly new throttle body for a 94 pickup with 22re. Figured I’d ask here to support the community if possible

Just what is wrong with your throttle body ?? Check out Maxbore if they work on throttle bodies as old as yours.

I never had a 22RE that the IAC still worked when I got the vehicle .

When coolant started leaking I just looped the hoses and plugged the vacuum port.

We really don`t have real cold Winters here in Pa a few days it might be -10F as long as the engine was well maintained I never had starting issues . Just gave it extra air for a few minutes then let it warm up.

So many After Market sources I guess one gets what you pay for .

Unless I have absolutely no choice I buy OEM, or at least Denso and Aisin. So if you need options along those lines let me know.
When I go to AutoZone or O'Reillys I buy paint.

Other than Toyota dealerships, there isn't really any all around "go-to" place to get parts for these trucks, but there are a few companies that specialize in certain parts / systems.

22RE Performance specializes in 22R series engines.

They have new OEM IAC valves available here: https://22reperformance.com/intake-e...trol-valve-iac

I am not sure on the throttle bodies. Like Wyoming9 said, what do you think is wrong with yours? It might be repairable.

so, I can bypass the iac? If that’s the case and it’s for cold starts, I should be fine being in S ga. We rarely get out of the 30s here

A properly working iac is nice to have, regardless of the geographic location. It raises the idle speed of a engine till it reaches normal operating temp.

I have done it for a bunch of 22re engines Celica`s and 4x4`s

.it is a simple piece of metal that expands and contracts with the coolant temperature after years of thermal cycling the metal just gets tired and breaks why finding a used one is almost impossible.

after all if you want to idle the engine up several simple ways to do that job without spending any where close to the cost of the valve .

Why??when getting a new valve could be more then 1/2 the cost you paid for the truck.

I would be surprised if the only thing wrong with a $300-400 truck was just an idle air control valve...

Toyota parts last a looooog time, so the cost of a new IAC isn't too bad over time. Toyota wouldn't have included it if it wasn't important.

The IAC is for engine cold starts.

A "cold" engine is one that hasn't ran for several hours, regardless of ambient temperature.

You can't limit future investment in a vehicle simply based on what you paid for it. Overall condition plays a huge role. Shoot, otherwise if a new IAC valve is 50% the cost paid for the truck than tires will be 3x more than purchase price.
If the vehicle isn't worth investing in than dump it fast and get something worthwhile.

Standard Motor Products Import part AC141 use to be the same as the Toyota part, and it's made in Japan too. Bought one about four years ago from RockAuto. Don't know if the IACV being sold today is the Japanese made part or not.

The AC141 did come with a new gasket. The screws are a PITA to get out with a screwdriver. I had to use an impact with an impact phillips socket. Found the socket at Harbor Freight. Screws came out easy with the impact.
