Supercharged 5VZ Swap to 91 pickup

I picked up a wrecked 2004 Tacoma as a donor truck for my 91 Pickup. The donor has only 103000 miles and came with a TRD supercharger and headers.

How much clearance do I need under the hood? Instead of hacking the hood up I was thinking of doing a 1" body lift which will kill 2 birds with 1 stone and give me room for my 33s. Will that give me room?

Smashed up donor in green. Minty recipient in red

motor is out

There is lots of build and swap threads describing everything needed for this swap.

I have not done a swap but I recall you need a 2” body lift with no problems, or a 1” bodylift CAN work but you need to cut the under hood braces off.

Have also read some posts where there was no body lift and people cut the hood and welded a hood scoop. Have also read people did that with a 1” body lift too just for preference.

Your best bet is to search some other posts and see what others have done and go from there.

I'd just run a cut hood. I personally think the supercharger snout popping out of the hood looks pretty awesome. Definitely MadMax style

Make a cowl hood... most will think it's a fake till you smoke the tires and leave them setting there wondering what the heck is in that thing...hehe
it can look pretty sweet...

Ended up doing a 2" body lift. Couldn't use the TRD headers... they wouldn't clear the torsion bar brackets.
