Stock 1993 pickup 2jzge swap
Hello, I've been searching far and wide to try and find as much info as I can on swapping my 1993 4cl 5spd rwd toyota pickup to a 2jzge. Most of what I've found isn't exactly what I'm looking to do. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Not looking to make crazy number just something fun to drive. Will the 2jzge bolt to my w55 transmission(think that's what the truck has)? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

from what i've read, you're better off finding an R series transmission to use behind it.
otherwise you'd likely need to fab motor mounts (the 7mge and 7mgte actually bolt in if you use the 22re pedestal and 5mge motor mounts - its possible the 1 and 2j are the same, bu i wouldn't bet on it), trans mounts, use the r154 or similar bellhousing to the w55 (2wd) or w56(4wd) trans chunk. clutch/fw have to be for the 2j.
exhaust and intake are on opposite sides of the 22re so that'll be an issue to deal with, as well as steering because of that.
then the full wiring harness for the 2j and figuring out how to splice in whatever functionality you want IF you run standalone. otherwise, you'll basically just have a speedo and maybe a gas gauge if you use the ecu from the 2j and keep the truck computer to run accessories. since its obd2 it wont play nice with pre-obd2 stuff in our trucks
i welcome being corrected on any of this, but from the research i've done on it (i want to do the same, but am leaning toward a 7mge) thats what it would take to get it done.
theres more than few threads on here where people have done it, or petered out. of the better ones i remember seeing was on a mini-truck forum somewhere. maybe that will point you in the right direction
