Alright, sorry about confusion because I asked for thread to be deleted.. I wasn't ready to make the post yesterday but it was too late. anyway.
The problem I noticed yesterday. Cracks in my transmission housing. Not fun, not happy about this at all!! This is an A340H out of a 1995 with 150k miles about 5 years ago. Now it has about 190k miles on it. Works perfectly, but this won't last. Look at pics
My biggest concern is why this happened. After some searching online I found people on other forums who have had very similar problem in nearly same place. I had notice very fine cracks before, but it has grown. I'm trying to see if my custom cross member could have caused additional stresses, but I don't see how. During my crossmember install I was supporting the tranny under the oil pan where the bolt is. No deformations noticed. The load would have been relatively distributed to the housing, so... can't be that... or can it?
I am looking for a replacement, I thought about a manual swap but, I don't have the time for it. Although it would really help get some more power out of the 3.0.
The crack on the bottom is older i think. has lots of debris. If you look closely you can see the crack starting at the oil pan under the bolt to the right of the blue plate. Goes up to that first rounded part, turn 90 degrees to the right and passes the oil connection point and turn 90 degrees and comes back down. This whole chunk seems to be stresses somehow. When I have some time I will look to see what is behind this. I'm guessing oil pump. You can also see the oil seepage.
