Hello...looking into getting some TRD headers and found these on ebay. Does anyone know where I could get them cheaper? I know there was a TRD sales rep on here (forget his name)...can you beat it?

Also, would it be necessary to have these HPC wrapped or should they be fine the way they are? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

His name is Todd and screen name is TOR. I have the TRD headers and payed alittle less than that and then had them Jet-Hot coated.

You should not need to HPC coat TRD headers. I believe they are ceramic coated already (someone correct me if I am wrong). Another option, is to go with Edelbrock's from Summit Racing ($375 shipped) then have them "intercepted" by HPC en route. HPC will then coat them for $200. When all is said and done, you will save yourself about $150 over the TRD's with the same results.

EDIT: OK I guess I was wrong. You do need to have them (TRD's) coated. That will put your overall savings around $300 - $400 if you go with coated Edelbrock's.

I was considering the Edelbrock's but couldn't find them on Summit Racing's website. Does anyone have the direct link? I was also under the impression that the TRD's were preferred. I noticed that Gadget actually replaced his Edelbrock's with TRD's and was happy with the results.

 

If you've got the cash go TRD. If not go eddelbrock, you still get some gains.

but honestly if your looking for power from headers, your not going to see too much from either unit
