Hey All, Newbie to the forum. Been lurking for a while checking out the killer Yota site. Anyway I am a former Tacoma owner. I bought a new 95.5 SR5 4X4 loaded xtracab, first one of that model sold in GA in fact. Unfortunately I had to sell it 2 years later because I had college loans to pay for. Well those loans are gone and I want another Tacoma. I located a very nice 98 Taco xtracab 4x4 limited. Its pretty much loaded with all the factory goodies. It also has a TRD supercharger. Kelly blue book and edmunds put it at $11,600-$11,700(not including the supercharger). Edmunds and KBB have no option for the supercharger. My question is how much more the charger should ad to the private party price? The seller is asking $15,500, which I'm thinking even w/the charger is a litte optimistic. What do you all think? Sounds like it may be a bit on the upper end. I'm not really sure though since I don't keep up with that stuff. You might want to check autotrader.com and see what the going rate for 98 Tacomas are in your area. It might help you get a good idea on price. I would suspect that the seller will take less. Their first price is always wishful thinking on their part.

If the seller doesn't want to deal, don't sweat it. There are PLENTY more trucks out there for sale. Just don't get impatient.

Hopefully somebody knowledgeable on prices will post soon.

 

Thanks for the reply Nic. I'm thinking it's on the upper side too, but like you send hopefully they will deal a little. I'm not in a huge rush, just started looking. Just waiting to hear back from the guy on some details.
