Everytime I see this, I get mad because I have NO idea what the heck this thing is for. Anyone care to enlighten me?

 

I know the SR5 black matte front mud guards on 3rd gens have a hole in the bottom that goes into the body right there, so maybe they just put a bolt up in there anyway if you don't get front mud flaps. other than that, no idea.

 

if thats in the front then it should hold the fender flare and or the splash guard. thats what it does on my taco.

 

Hmmm, I'll have to grab my front mudflap and see if that's the case. I couldn't remember the flaps going back that far before I removed them.

That is the annoying bolt that used to get in the way of bolting my sliders back on.

IIRC, there are two in that area. One is like a regular bolt, the other looks like the bottom of the bolt except the nut does not move. They hold the front fenders on.

 

It looks like it could be a schraeder valve .Is there an air line comming out the back of it?
