2000 Toyota 4 Runner Limited 3.6L Will not Start
Getting straight to the point, turning the key only powers the console lights and powers the radio, but no cranking. No clicking from the starter relay, and battery is new. After days of trouble shooting (checking fuses, replacing the start relay, ensuring the vehicle is in park, etc.) I removed the starter relay and used a wire to create a short and start the car (key in ignition and turned to run). Vehicle starts fine and runs while in park or neutral. The minute I shift into drive, the vehicle stops. I am not sure what it is but I am leaning towards the Park/Neutral switch. Any ideas?

When the Ignition Immobilizer is removed, the car will not start at all when I short across the starter relay. With the immobilizer in place and the key turned to run, I am able to get the car to start by shorting across the relay. As soon as I touch the gear shift (automatic transmission by the way), and place the car into drive or any other position the car dies. I have a neutral safety switch inbound. I will also start looking at the security system.
