So today I completely fubared the knock sensor on my 22RE engine when trying to unplug the damn thing (was the last thing left to unplug before removing the wiring harness).
Does anyone happen to have a leftover / spare knock sensor that might care selling to me? The damn thing costs way too much new (OEM of course, not gonna put chinese junk in it), and I'm in a location far away from any junkyard.
I have one of the oval ones off a 90s 22-re. (New OEM)
Looks like the old plug (rectanglular) is what you need?
I think you can fix yours though.
Oh man, thanks for replying!
Here's a pic of both connections: towards the wiring harness (left) and the sensor's plug (right). Is that the oval-shaped plug you're referring to? My truck's a 1994, so I'm hoping it should work allright.
I have no idea how could the sensor be fixed. It literally broke, and as can be seen in the second picture on my first post, the "filling" inside the "nut" part of it separated from the metal rod that extends from the plug, and I'm guessing that filling must somehow dissipate vibrations or sounds the sensor is supposed to adequately sense from the engine. If that makes any sense at all.
ev13wt, could you please confirm if your knock sensor's plug is the same as mine's, and if you are willing to sell to me the knock sensor ?
Thanks!
I'll be at our shop saturday and I'll take a pic.
It's in Germany, its brand new.
We should PM about this stuff, not sure about forum rules about selling and stuff. I check Yotatech daily and I'd see your message in a popup, ya know.
