Broken EGR Valve

Hey everyone,

I have emissions coming up soon for my 88 4x4 and been getting a list together of everything Id like to tune up. Combing through the engine bay I actually saw that this piece I circled in red was broken off. The car runs fine and doesn't stumble in anyway so not sure if previous owner knew about it and just clogged it in some way to bypass?

I'll get an actual picture of it here when I get home. Thank you!

It's likely got a blind plate installed at the exhaust manifold.

Otherwise it'd have a major exhaust leak at that broken joint.

Looks like you need another EGR valve.

Not sure how you are going to get out the broken piece of the EGR from the nut.
