Hi I just bought a 96 4 runner from someone and I believe the antitheft system is overriding my fuel pump. My locks go up and down while I'm driving is why I think it's the antitheft system PLEASE HELP also it seems to flood when the fuel pump is working

 

Try and get it back to stock if you can. Usually with stuff like this you will find the previous owner or installer thought they were smarter than they were and either took a shortcut, tape and wire nuts sort of deal. Good luck and post pictures of any aftermarket wiring you can find...

Is your system an original Toyota system or did someone add an aftermarket anti-theft system later?

 

its the original . there is a switch installed by previous owner under driver side panel that i cant figure out what it goes to. i actually got the fuel pump to operate but it wont start all the way

 

it caught on fire when i tried spraying starter fluid in the air intake if that helps identify.a specific problem. it ran not that long ago for a few days. i cleaned the injectors it was flooding right away when starting it and it ran. my husband sprayed seafoam in the air intake and it started idling a lot better immediately. while revving it to clear it out it stalled and hasnt started since.
