I am not sure who you are referring to.

You didn't give us much information on your Tacoma like year, transmission, etc.

Just so you know, the factory intake IS a true cold air intake.

Generally, aftermarket "cold air intakes" are a waste of money as they usually take in HOT air from a HOT engine bay, ironically. They are mostly for the looks than anything else.

I don't know about the throttle spacer.

Factory coils are just fine. I do not think any high performance coil would increase performance on an otherwise stock engine. The same goes for fuel injectors.

 

Lc engineering makes a throttle body spacer, claims 5HP gain. I'm not too sure about that figure, but I've bought multiple products from them and the quality of the parts are on point. I'm thinking about buying the spacer myself.

For cold air intake, you're best off doing the deckplate mod. a CAI kit like K&N might be small gain HP but i've never found them to be worth the price. anything less than that will just make the engine louder. When i bought my 3RZ 4runner, i removed the aftermarket straight aluminum piping and went back to the factory intake and did the deckplate mod.

I haven't seen any performance ignition coils, but make sure you use OEM plugs and wires.

If your truck does not already have it, you might want to look into a Tacoma mini header(exhaust).
