Jack and tool Stowage 92 4X4 pickup reg. cab.
Hi all,
Its with a red face that I have to ask what the correct way is to stow the jack and tools on my regular cab 4X4 92 pickup. I pulled the
bench seat out today to have it reupholstered . The jack and tools were laying behind the seat. I put the jack into its bracket and raised
the jack, centering it until it made contact with the bracket cap and snugged it in. I wrapped the tool bag in its holder with the big O-ring.
I have two pieces left over. One is a spring steel u-shaped clamp that appears it wants to hold the jack in place, but once installed its too loose
and does nothing but rattle. The other piece is a more sturdy wider u-shaped bracket that so far defies explanation as to where it goes.
Anyone out there have a photo of what a properly stowed jack and tool bag looks like? Everything mounts on the cab's rear vertical bulkhead.
Thanks in advance

In all the Toyota`s I bought I have never had one with the Stock jack and tire tools .
My Guess is the Jacks failed and were thrown out .
I venture to say this is the normal for these vehicles .
Good Luck

Thank you for the reply. I did some research on Toyota factory parts and learned that the heavier steel
bracket is called a "wheel cap replacer". Its for removing the alloy center caps on the rear wheels of my 4X4.
Of hundreds of wheel/tire tool kits I looked at, only one of them had the tool included. Mysuspicion is that
the other spring steel item may be related somehow but I can't be sure. I'll continue looking and maybe
something will turn up on it. Thanks again.
