AC conversion on 350 swapped 92 Pickup
Hey everyone, I am new to the forum. I have a 1992 Toyota Pickup that was swapped to a Chevy 350 V8. The truck never had AC, and I would like to add it. I've got a buddy who has an 84 pickup that his his mud bog racer, and it is also 350 swapped but has all the AC components under the dash. He said I could have them free if they will work and if I pulled them out. But the real question is what would be the best way to add AC to my truck? I've also looked at aftermarket systems but I like the idea of using the stock components and original dash vents. Thanks in advance!

I have a 92 4runner with a gm 4.3 with a/c . Works great . Put in all the stock toyota stuff . Use the stock a/c pump for the motor you have . Really all you have to do is hook up the toyota a/c pump clutch wire to the gm pump clutch. Find a A/C repair place . They will be able to make custom hose and fittings that go gm to toyota . I think mine were about $150 ??? . Be sure to clean out all the lines really really good before installing them and tape them off until you hook them up. You will also need to buy a new toyota A/C Receiver Drier and i would buy a new expansion valve . It only take a speck of dirt to close the system . They also recommend using a new condenser because they get plugged up with sludge . The auto store sells a/c cleaner , its kinda like acid tone to try to flush out the system.
