Resetting the steering stop bolts or procedure on adjusting (4" lifted IFS)

Purchased a new set of delrin caps for the stop bolts and noticed one of the bolts is broken.
To replace it I'll probably just buy all 4 but I'm wondering is there a procedure to reset or adjust the position of these bolts? Not sure if it matters but this is a '92 pickup (IFS) with a 4" suspension lift. Does the turning radius need to be increased buy the stops due to the increased angle of the axles or anything like that?
The truck already has a really wide radius and I'm wondering if the PO did it intentionally. If I can reset the stoppers so they're in further (tighter radius) I'd like to. Just not sure if there's any issues with having them too far in.

Essentially their biggest reason for being used is to stop CV bind. If they are set in too far and the CV will bind up and then promptly grenade. I don't think there's any real special procedure to do so. Just turn the wheel without the stops and see where the CV starts to bind up. Install the stops a littler further out than that point.

Whats the proper way to do that?
Jack up the truck or do it in the parking lot?
