Runnin' boards gone

Didn't like em, always hit my legs on them when getting in and out. Killed the ground clearance, and made it look to much like a car.

Much better now, looks like it sits taller.

With running boards

Without the boards, and manual hubs now.

I would like to do the same thing with my 97ltd but mine has the flares and I don't know how it would look if I take the boards off.

I found another plus after taking off my running boards, now my mother-in-law can't get in the 4Runner, she's too short to reach.

My Runner gets so many more looks with the boards off and I'll have my painted Bushwackers on the next nice weekend we get.

Limited Runners look fine with no boards;I was trying to talk my mom into removing hers (I told her she'd get better gas mileage) since she never even steps on them but she's too stubborn.
Unless you have a lifted Runner I don't see a use for boards since my 5 foot 4 inch mom doesn't even need them.
