^^ Exactly, RN is the part chassis code. It told you that the vehicle had an R series engine installed from the factory (i.e. 22R, 22R-E).
The 3.0L 3VZE had a VZN engine/chassis code for the VZ series engine.
The 2.4L Diesel engine (pretty rare in the U.S.) had an LN engine/chassis code for the L series diesel engine.
The 3.0L 3VZE had a VZN engine/chassis code for the VZ series engine.
