Will an 01 rear hatch work on a 99 or 00 4runner? I know the rear window control module is a different color/part number but that is the only difference I am aware of. Anyone tried this?

 

It depends whether you need the key fob, if you don't have a key fob it should operate as usual 96-2002 using the button on the dash or console depending on year, if you don't have the key for the new t-gate or change the key operated window lock cylinder, you will only be able to operate the window with the button in cab, personally that just won't due, the key fob is priceless and changing the lock cylinder is a PITA but necessary for a fully operational t-gate.
