will softer springs dampen my ride to be more Lexus quality? 02 sr5 4wd 4runner
I'm interested in upgrading my suspension to softer springs and maybe better shocks. Otherwise I will be switching my ride to a plusher 1st gen LX470, tundra or sequoia for a better on road ride.
I love my 2002 4 Runner. Its gotten me everywhere. Through deep snow, mud bottoms, up 11,000 ft Sierra mountains, to the beach, and all around the Bay Area roads I drive daily on. I want to keep my Runner but I must say after the crappy asphalt streets give my back a beating in my runner. My stock suspension rides much better than my buddies 98. I do love going off road to find new campsites and really only travel up gnarly dirt roads 15 percent a year. Will a soft spring for a softer ride really compromise my off road capability? Or for my main purpose of better ride quality on my daily commute, does it make sense to upgrade the springs. I don't want a lift just a softer plusher ride.

You will never be happy just buy the Lexus and be done!!
So much plays into a soft ride you will be swapping parts for the next few years
Only you have any idea just what sort of ride you want
One of my Girlfriends has a 2002 4 runner 3.4 It rode so soft I thought the Suspension was completely worn out at 45,000 miles Drove another it was close to the same.
The type of tires and the pressure can really make a difference in ride
Not sure what year it was or the specs but I rode in a Lexus which seemed to have more of a harsh ride then my 92 4runner
Go figure!!

At this point in time are you asking all at the same time or over the last 45 years in total
Either way it would need me to sit and figure things out
I only have problems when 4 or more of them are together
