Water pump question

I need to replace my water pump soon but when I look them up I notice that 99% of the ones listed have an outlet tube on the thermostat end of the water pump. I've replaced my thermostat and I don't recall this outlet hose? I guess I could of missed it but I doubt that. What vehicles had the water outlet pipe? Is it just autos that have this particular watepump with the outlet?
oh and I have a 92 4x4 truck with the v6 by the way...manual transmission

That outlet is necessary for engines that are equipped with an oil cooler.

mine doesn't have it and I've found a lot of the parts stores around me don't list the water pump without that outlet tube

The oil cooler was included on trucks with the factory towing package as far as I know. RockAuto should have pumps without the bypass hose.

If I decide to only replace the water pump do I still have to take the crankshaft pulley off?
