93 4Runner engine knowledge

Morning gentlemen, I'm looking for some knowledge on a 1993 4Runner that I have. I recently blew the head gasket for the second time on my runner. It has the dreaded 3.0 3VZE motor which I'm told. I love the 4Runner and don't want to part with it. My question is, can I upgrade to a different engine for the 2nd gen runners? Can I use a 3.4 5VZE engine instead of the 3.0 3VZE? If so, is it a fairly simple job? I've looked around youtube for videos, but not much info about this on there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...

Red, just an FYI if you do re-do your head gasket again. I recently rebuilt my 3vze because of a blown headgasket. The deck of the block was eroded enough that the machine shop said if I replaced the head gasket it would eventually fail again in the same spot. The solution is to have the block surfaced but that makes it a much bigger job.

Lots of info on here about the 3.4 swap.
