Im talking about MANUAL trans here

4cly engine (22RE) or v6 engine (3VZ-E)?

4Cyl used a "W" series trans - most likely a W-56 (there are letters afterwards)
V6 used an "R" series trans - R150F

The W and R are not (easily) swappable

The W ones are very similar, though there are differences between "forward shift" and transfer case shift.
In general it should be a bolt up, but I am not 100% sure.

look at the marlin crawler trans i.d. photos, and then look at each trans.

i have no idea about '90 vs. '91, but speaking in general about toyota truck transmissions, the holes in the tunnels don't always line up with the shifters.
