1983 4x4 Truck Brake Caliper Question

Hey guys and gals. This is my first Toyota in my life and no nothing about them. I was under the impression these trucks had single piston calipers well when I was taking my wheel off to replace mine I noticed I have dual pistol calipers?? Was this a option on the pick ups? Again my truck is a 1983 4x4 5 speed short bed.

It is a Toyota no telling just what calipers might have been swapped on there

The 4 piston ones might be 4x4 Been some time since I had my 83

many of the toyota calipers have i.d. numbers cast in the caliper housing, which would help you identify what you have.

Stock 79-83 Had single piston caliper and non vented rotors. Very common brake upgrade is to mount vented FJ40 Rotors and 88-95.5 V-6 Calipers.
That is probably what you are seeing done by a previous owner
