I am putting a air intake on my pickup(22RE) and the intake I bought doesn't have anywhere for the resonator to hook up to, the black canister to the left of the intake manifold. do I need it? or can I put a separate small filter on it? I'd like to get it install with as little headache as possible.

 

The part you are talking about, if I recall right, the air tube connecting Intake to the AFM has a separate tube to the air filter box and goes to the Resonator that you are talking about. Not sure if you could block it off. I think you need to get a newer air box and the correct tube that goes along the Intake pipe.
